Sexting Laws in Colorado:
It is a federal crime in Colorado to create, possess, and/or distribute images containing minors engaging in sexual activity. If convicted, the person could face prison time and be registered as a sex offender.
Exemption is not yet available for minors who share sexual images with other minors. As a result, minors are charged under the same child pornography laws as adults.
Punishments:
- It is a felony to create/share/possess sexual images of minors.
- Possessing: up to 18 months in prison time.
- Producing: up to 12 years in prison time.
- Be registered as a sex offender.
