Sexting Laws in Alaska
Under the current Alaska child pornography laws, persons found creating, distributing or possessing images containing minors engaging in sexually activity will face felony charges and if convicted, persons will face prison time, fines and be registered as sex offenders.
Exemption is available for minors who sext pictures between themselves.
Punishment:
- If the person distributes to 1 or 2 people: class B misdemeanor or up to 90 days in jail.
- If the person distributes to 3 or more people: class A misdemeanor or up to 1 year in jail.
- If the person distributes to the Internet: class C felony or up to 5 years in jail.
